Unit leader: Yuji Nishiwaki, Toru Takebayashi

By incorporating a wide ranage of methodology, such as nutritional science, molecular medicine, behavioral science, into the core discipline of medicine and epidemiology, this unit conducts high-quality health risk assessment and uses its result to develop and improve intervention methods as well as assessing its efficacy.

The outcome is used to establish preventive medical care that provides effective change and improvement for all levels of society, and to provide public health policy and measures for improving QOL and extending healthy life expectancy.
