Unit leader: Toru Takebayashi
By applying the core discipline of clinical epidemiology and biostatistics to the field of clinical medicine, this unit conducts efficacy assessment of medical technology and evidence assessment of health risks. Furthermore, these results are communicated to society as a comprehensible and accurate information, thereby creating an environment in which the members of community can judge and discuss what is a necessary health policy.
Research themes
・Assessment research regarding effective use of medical care resources
・Clinical epidemiology research (RCT, follow-up study, etc), collaborating with clinical departments including gastroenterologic medicine, neuropsychiatry, orthopedics, and rehabilitation.
・Epidemiology study of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
・Research on relocation of diabetes medical care
・Comprehensive undertaking of promoting clinical research and clinical trials in medical school/hopsital environment.
